Attendance Matters!

If your child is absent from school for an unavoidable reason then you must contact the school office via telephone before 9:15am on each day of their absence.

Holy Saviour RC Primary School is a successful school and every child plays their part in making it so.

We aim for an environment which enables and encourages all pupils to achieve their potential and aspire to excellence.

For our children to gain the greatest benefit from their education it is vital that they attend regularly and every child should be at school, on time, every day the school is open unless they have an unavoidable reason to be absent. Any
absence affects the pattern of a child’s schooling and regular absence will seriously affect their learning.

Absence or late arrival also disrupts daily routines and teaching and so may affect the learning of others in the same class.

Is my child too ill for school?

It can be tricky deciding whether or not to keep your child off school, nursery or playgroup when they're unwell.

There are government guidelines for schools and nurseries about health protection and managing specific infectious diseases at GOV.UK. These say when children should be kept off school and when they shouldn't.

Please take a look at the NHS guidance at the below link if you are unsure if your child is too ill for school.

Please remember, if your child is well enough to attend, but has an infection that could be passed on such as a cold sore or head lice then please commence treatment, send them to school and inform the class teacher who can inform other parents.
